Day 37 July 19 2010

This was our driving day. We just spent the night and then left for Petaluma, Calif. Our base to the Bay area. We are staying at a KOA and it is suppose to be a super one. After setting up we went into explore the town and it is really a neat one. They have preserved so many of their buildings and homes, instead of tearing down for more modern ones. Some of the banks have become seed stores, antique stores and eateries. Took lots of pics and then came back to camp.

This pic was in the lobby of the camp ground where we stayed. Cypress Ave. ?? Are we close to home ?
Lots of Olive Trees. Where is Dean Parker?
Another casino but we did not stop.
Neat old barn along I-5 highway.
Fields of Sunflowers. We know Casey would like these.
Future bottles of wine.
Not sure but these trees look like peach trees.
This trucker was hauling the tank somewhere and we decided to get pic at rest stop. Neat Tank.
Wow look at the fire.
More sunflowers along the highway.
Texas Raodhouse in California.
In California, we guess they don't have doors on the port-a-cans.
Another old barn, very old and cows. Are we in Texas or what ?
This is home base for the next four nights. We have made it to Petaluma, Calif.
Then to the Historic part of Petaluma CA. they sell all kinds of organic seeds here.
Nice restored part of the original downtown area.
The entrance to the plaza.
The plaque to honor Helen Putman.
These VW's had a price tag of $1500. in an antique store.
A nice bridge over the river that goes thru this part of town.
An old building across the river. We think it is a place to eat.
Just a picture of part of the restored historical section of town.
Just information about this place.

And building were turned into coffee shops.
And the old Post Office is now a 24 hr Fitness Center.
A Christmas Shop also.

Some of the old restored homes.

  1. Did you take the tour of San Francisco from the KOA? The guy that runs them is a great guide.
