Our day did not look to promising when we started out. It was overcast, cold and rainy but we figured this was typical Washington weather and went for it. We went to
Snoqualmie, Washington to view the falls and the town and train were extra bonus. The falls were very impressive but when we got there we had to take pics between fog banks and rain. Depending on the amount of snow determines the width of the falls each year as you can see they had quite a bit, because sometimes it is a very thin line. It is suppose to be 100 feet higher than
Niagara Falls. The path leading to the bottom of the falls was closed until 2013 for reconstruction, so the top view is all we could get. Went into town and toured the train station and they had a vintage train running so we decided to take a ride. Never been on a train together so it was a first. It went to North Bend, just down the tracks about 5 miles and then back past
Snoqualmie to the falls, we could get a good shot of where the dam has given way and they are repairing it. They have an inn you can stay in I think you may see it in a pic that is right at the top of the falls overlooking them. The weather had cleared up by the time we got back from the train ride it was an hour and 10 minutes long. Kind of neat. We had to go to the general store and check it out, the owner had lived in Houston, imagine that.
HaHa We took a
different way back to Kent than the
gps said, it had brought us by freeways so we took back roads it was a much prettier drive.I guess you can see how little space we had at camp but George became quite a cherry picker, they were the rainier cherries and really sweet.
