2018 WWW Rally Glen Rose TX

WWW Rally in Glen Rose Texas, October 13—Oct. 22, 2018
Well we have headed for Glen Rose on Saturday 10/12/2018 a little late (almost 12:00 noon) due to reported storms along the way.
Oakdale Park is one of the oldest and most historic campgrounds and RV parks in Texas. Bring your RV and enjoy the wonderful trees, relaxing atmosphere and the hometown Texas feel.Come and spend quality time with family and friends in a serene country like atmosphere, while only being a short drive from Fort Worth. Oakdale Park is proud to have one of the largest swimming pools in the State of Texas called the Plunge and owned by the city..There are various facilities in the park to host meetings, banquets, weddings, festivals, and family reunions. The Paluxy River and Big Rocks Park is just across the street. Historic downtown and the Courthouse is just around the bend to fill your shopping and restaurant needs. www.oakdalepark.com
Sure enough when we were getting close to Waco we ran into a storm, only lasted about 15-20 minutes. The rain was really coming down hard. (pictures on the Blog)
We had passed the Halls, and the LaCoste as they were stopped at a DQ for lunch. Sorry we didn't join them.
Once we arrived at Oakdale Park in Glen Rose and got all hooked up we were hungry, so we went to have Bar-B-Q at Hammond’s in Glen Rose.
We had a total of 13 RV’s that showed  up for the rally. There were 8 cancellations.
Sunday 10/14/2018 The Hall’s, the LaCoste’s and us all went to the Bernard’s Mill and Art Museum.
Also took in part of the square and had Pie and then to the malt shop. After this we returned to the park and others have arrived by then. Guess what, someone mentioned they were hungry so Polo suggested we go to The Big Cup Eatery. So glad we went there. We found out they are the “Home of the Biggest Biscuits in Texas.” And a few found out for sure. 😉 . Then while eating another storm game thru. It rained all night and the temperature went from 74 deg, down to 42 deg by morning. (Wind chill was 33 deg,)
10/15/2018 While we were having all the fun we had a flat on our van, went in Monday morning to Discount Tire in Granbury to get a new tire.  We had called Good Sam’s Road Service and they came and changed out to (our donut spare for us). Had our evening meal here in Glen Rose at the Green Pickle..
10/16/18   Had Lunch in Granbury today at La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant. Then several went to the Sq. and shopped others went elsewhere.
10/17/18    Took Betty and Damon  to the Creation Evidence Museum. Then back to the RV park for games and Shrimp Gumbo by Sharon and Polo. Very good. Also had several desserts by Brenda Scherbeck, and Linda and Debbie.
10/19/18      Had breakfast at the “The Big Cup Eatery  so good. Another rainy day. Several went to museum’s and others went shopping, also played games and worked on puzzles. One of the museum’s was  the “Creation Evidence in the 21st Century” take the time and check out a 3 minute video at www.creationevidence.org well worth the time.
10/20/18   We went to see our son and his family today and had lunch with them in Tin Top, Texas.
Then back to the RV Park and played games.
10/21/18 Started out today with bright sky’s and a small service by Julian Hall in the Rally Room this morning. 16 attended the service and we want to thank Julian a lot for this. Several members had to leave for various reasons this morning. Then  the 8 of the remaining 10 persons that are staying over till Monday went to Debbie’s for Breakfast in Glen Rose. After this we returned to the Park and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day we had today. We all decided on just a nice day to sit outside and visit and rest for the trip home on Monday.Troy and Pat Lunsford went to see his sister Wanda that lives in Whitney, she is 5 years younger than Troy. (that was only 44 miles from the park.) Our son and daughter-in-law came over and brought stuff for us to take back.
10/22/18  There were 5 RV's that stayed over and left for home this Monday morning. We were the last ones to leave and our son and daughter-in-law came back over with more stuff and we had breakfast with them at Debbie's and then they helped us get ready to leave.
Hope to see a lot of you soon. This was a great rally in spite of the rain. We all had a good time just being together.
Don't forget to sign up for the Christmas luncheon if you haven't already.
Next WWW Rally February at Forest Retreat. Hosted by LaVerne Williams and Pat Lunsford.
Remember to embrace each day to it's fullest and be kind to one another. We are RV family. Safe travels and see you soon.
