WWW Rally May 2014

Another good rally. For all that was not able to attend you missed some good shopping and eating here. Charlotte Hall (Manager) and Terry Valek (Assistant manager) were so receptive and helpful to us. They even had the kitchen staff fix a huge platter of cookies for us, there was chocolate chip, sugar and Macadamia nut. They were delicious.

We had a total of 15 members and 6 guest in attendance for this rally.

We had a really good rally the weather was wonderful. The first few days we had a wonderful wind and not much humidity but that did not last all week.
We ate out more this rally. Only because every shop in Mineola has a little eating area and we did not want to slight any of them.  Sharon and Carol(one of our guest) made sure they were in all the shops and Sharon had to rearrange her car many times and by the end she could only have one other passenger with her. They know how to bargain and go.

They had a nice buffet within walking distance, but we did not walk.
The East Texas Burger Company was on the Bucket List Show, if any of you watch it. They lived up to their great hamburgers. The Waffleletta attached to East Texas(they share the kitchen) served breakfast all day. Bill(one of our guest) made sure he had breakfast no matter what time we went.

We played Skip-Bo, Pass the Love and Mexican Train. Did not have a big attendance but we managed several games and a little work on the puzzle.
We were all saddened when Marvin Peyton had to go to the emergency room for some stitches and then they had to leave for home the next morning. We wish him a speedy recovery and back on the road soon.
I would definitely return for another rally if someone wants to host.

We have found out since coming home there is a town 10 miles west of Tyler, Ben Wheeler, where all craftsman live and they only pay $1.00 a month for rent. They were hand picked to live and work there by the man who developed the town. Wish we would have known about it while there.

Thanks to our host Sharon Goodlet and Maria & Gunter Lieble.

Thanks to all who served our country with pride.
