Day 27 July 09 2010

We are leaving the Astoria area and heading south to Waldport, Ore. We will make a few stops on the way and hope to see some of the Pacicfic Ocean. we left about 9:45 a.m.
The fog is not co-operating with us it is really thick and not much view. We made a few stops but most pics are not that good. We will stop in Tillamook for the famous cheese factory and ice cream store. We made it to the cheese factory and took a tour to see them making the cheese and of course we indulged in some ice cream. We went downstairs to the cheese sampling and decided on some different kinds of cheese.
We left there and saw a few sights then on to our camp at Waldport, Ore. We did not go see any sights that evening. Just got set up and unwound some.

It started out foggy at the KOA in Astoria OR.
Here at "Hay Stack Rock" it was not much better.
You can see the fog moving in.
With the fog and the tunnel this looked spooky.
A beautiful drive going South on U.S. 101.
A view point along the highway we stopped at.
The fog and the Blue Pacific.
I thought this looked cool
This was a drop of about 300 ft. to the water.
Some nice folks took our picture with the Pacific Ocean in the background.
Another fog bank .
Nice hanging baskets, they have so many pretty flowers up in this part of the country.
A Tsunami warning sign? Something to think about.
Nice covered walkway over the highway.
Just thought this was a nice picture to take. It is in a lot of the brochures for the Oregon Coast Highway.
A little bit of history again.
I don't know what I was eating.
Another bank of fog over the water.
Starting to get a little thick over the highway also.
Home of Tillamook Cheese. It is 101 years old.
Entrance .
We walked and the toured the factory.

Information again.
I guess this is a place to get your last cup before going to higher ground.
Cute wood carvings in town.
The Blue Pacific and a neat beach.
We are now in Waldport OR for three nights at this park.
Pat doing her texting. I think this was to Colleen.
