2016 WWW Rally in Castroville Texas

We arrived on Sunday April 17th, we drove for 7 1/2 hrs to get here from Rayne, Louisiana. This was a distance of 419.3 miles. Pat got some driving time in this trip. long day.
We had a total of 9 RV's here for this rally including  Frank and Barbara Adamec, they were visitors of Dan and Karen and Ed and Margaret. They asked to be put on our waiting list to join also.
We went into to Hondo twice and ate at the Herman Sons Steak house. Great variety of food.
We went to Nemo's seafood, Mannie and Connie Esparza introduced us to this one.
We also ate at Bill Miller's bar b q.
Shopping at the SAS Store. Everyone really enjoyed all the old cars, and antique memorabilia. Visiting several shops and relaxing.
We played games, cards, pegs and jokers, and played a couple of rounds of gossip up on the pavilion.
Taught our new card game to some. They really liked it and want to play it more.
Everyone here said they had a great time and want to return next May. The weather should be warm enough to enjoy the pool.
We attended the farmers market, which was not as good as last year. probably because Fiesta was going on in San Antonio. We then went to the local butcher shop and bought some great sausage, meat and other things.
We had to take our meat and cheese back to Rv and hurry back into town for a wine tasting at a neat little shop. Many of us had samples of the wines, cheese and crackers.
We split up and some of the guys went junking in Hondo and us gals went shopping in Castroville. We made a few shops and then decided to have lunch at the Castroville Cafe and we had an added pleasure, we had a local singer, Bobby Zamora, there singing and he was very good. We sat outside under the trees next to where he was singing and had a great time. It was a great gals day. We even had our pic made with him.
We also went to the golf club and ate at their little cafe.
We had wonderful weather, except for one little rain. Great outdoors weather. Fiesta will not be going on so we can make a trip to the Riverwalk and enjoy some of the local flavor. LOL
We are booked to return in May 2017 as everyone there was unanimous in coming back.
Hope all travel safely and see you very soon.
