Butterfly Festival 2015

April 19, 2015
We had our annual Butterfly Festival for Chrysalis Preschool. We were afraid we were going to be rained out but the weather co-operated and we had a beautiful day.  There was a good turn out after a slow start. We had bar-b-cue plates to go or eat there. We sold cookies, drinks also.  There were games, the science professor was here to put on a show.
There was the raffle items along with a silent auction.
We had a D.J. that kept the music going and kept everyone moving to the groove.
Plenty of volunteers helped to make it a great success. The staff of Chrysalis did a great job organizing everything and keeping it running smoothly.

Getting things set up.

Some good Bar-B-Q came off this pit.

The kids had a good time helping out.

Crusin Cajun Rally Rayne LA. April 2015

Our first Crusin' Cajun Rally as a guest. There were 207 RV's in attendance and 18 had to cancel for unknown reasons. The weather was all over the map, sunny some days rain some. This made for some interesting days. This is a City owned park and they furnish a tractor if anyone needed assistance to get out due to the mud. I understand that there were some that required this service on Sunday when the rally was over.
It has been a long time since we had as much fun as we did at this rally. This club really has things organized. Everyone was so friendly and we knew no stranger.
We met quite a few people who were from our area and knew some of our friends. It is really a small world after all. A past principal of Jersey Village and his wife a teacher at Millsap and then an administrator with Cy-Fair schools. They are also friends of some of our neighbors.  Met an ex-  officer of DeMontrond also. Also met someone kin to some very dear and old friends of ours from the Cypress area, when I heard what his last name was I knew he had to be kin. Great guy and wonderful wife.
We were not sure if we would like it or not and we found out quickly we did.
From the food, to the dancing, to the music, the games and the skit they did was oh so funny.
We will be going to Patterson, La. for the next rally so we can become members of the club. You have to attend two rallies in a row to join. We want to thank our sponsors Joe and Janet Bechard and Don and Sue Stone.
We did not get to take as many pics of the city due to our schedule and the weather. Next time we will do that.
We will be crusin to these rallies at least twice a year for sure.

We went here the first evening to eat. Great way to start a rally.
