Victoria KOA Sept 22-23

Well, we had to stop here at the Victoria KOA again after our Rockport Rally with some friends for some R & R. The  Fitzgerald's, Liebel's, Huntley's, and Franklin's stopped off for a couple of days. Jesse and Mary stopped long enough to tour the park and watch the Texans game then they had to leave, You are midway between Victoria and Goliad. Lots to see and do. The Hanging Tree in Goliad is the place to eat. Great food. We all had a  relaxing time and hated to have to go home.
Say Wayne and Don, our tour guides from our church, how about checking this one out for future trips?
I am sorry that I did not get any pictures of the Fitzgerald's.

Sandy, Pat, Maria and Gunter in the shade, they call it the meditation garden.

 This is a different birdbath.

We were told this was a good place to eat in Victoria. Sandy got the word from Doni and Larry Gordon
The deer are out again this morning 9/23/2013 @ 7:00AM

 Hwy into Goliad Texas.
We had lunch here and it was great.

Nice Cat on the wall inside the restaurant.

Can you believe it coast $68,000. to build the Court House?
 Inside the court house.

 The ornate hardware from 1894.
Then to Presidio La Bahia where the Battle of Goliad was. this was prior to The Alamo.

The Battle of Goliad was the second skirmish of the Texas Revolution. In the early-morning hours of October 9, 1835, rebellious Texas settlers attacked the Mexican Army soldiers garrisoned at Presidio La Bahía, a fort near the Mexican Texas settlement of Goliad. La Bahía lay halfway between the only other large garrison of Mexican soldiers (at San Antonio de Béxar) and the major Texas port of Copano.

The motto that started the battle.

Back to the RV  park and visit and watch some of the deer.

Nice Catfish pond where you can catch and keep only one.
 Sunset this evening.

They are making progress on the club house.

More deer this morning the 24th before we leave to go home.

Sunrise this morning, our last day here.

God Bless America.
