We did not check the weather prior to leaving Cypress. It was 58 deg (F) at game time with a good wind also. I managed to tough it out till the end of the third quarter then I had to go to the Van and get warmed up.
Eastland is rated as #4 for state in 3-A football. they are good and as Mike Franklin (our Son and head Coach said, "His team didn’t play very well." The coach said the positive was that his team never quit. “We kept playing and we didn’t hang our heads.”
You can check out the Hood County News online and read the write up of the game there.
We did not stay long, as Mike had to be back at school by 9:00 AM to start coaching his team for next weeks game.
Just a fast trip for us.
We did get to visit with our son and his family, Jana, Lauren our grandaughter, Leah and her daughter Ruby our great grandaughter.
