We did some sightseeing on our own before everyone arrived. some will follow on next blog.
We did visit a very nice KOA that wants to have rallies come to their location and a nice cafe downtown rusk.
This was our second RRR Rally. This is our church group. Location is Rusk State Park. We had 6 RV's attend this outing.
We have not stayed in a State park in years so it was a different experience for us. The grounds could have had a little better care but overall it was a lot of fun. Very quite and relaxing.
We all had stories to tell and then some had hard luck to tell about their travels.
All had a great time.
This is something Pat & I have wanted to do for a long time. (Ride the Train). Due to early blooming on everything there was not much color on the trip but it was still a first for us and we had a good time. We took a picnic lunch and ate on the grounds of the Palestine station. We toured their gift shop and then boarded for the return ride. Makes you appreciate our modes of transportation in this modern day. It took an hour and a half to go about 20 something miles. Could not get a lot done on a trip in one day.
We were hoping for the Dogwood's to be in bloom, however; due to all the rain and bad weather they were not blooming this time.
More to follow.
