Our trip to see Dillon in Fort Benning GA. from College Station, Texas after the Graduation of Cody Franklin from Texas A & M, May 15th 2015.
We drove non stop for 14 hrs. to get there to have breakfast with him on the 16th of May.
Dillon is our Grandson, the son of Stan Loftin and Pam, our daughter. he is in boot camp in Ft. Benning, Georgia.
It was family week-end and we went to spend some time with him. His Dad, Stan, and step-Mom, Sheri, had arrived on Thursday and attended the Friday morning ceremony. They stayed until Saturday afternoon and we stayed until Monday morning.
We got to tour the base and see where all Dillon's drills are done. It is an enormous base.
We went out to eat and let him have R&R in our hotel room. We went shopping one day to get a few Army items.
He has been chosen to go to the Old Guard, this is the unit that stands guard over the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier and participate in a lot of Ceremonial Activities. We are so proud of him also. this is quite an honor and can not wait to take a trip to see him actually performing his duties in Virginia.

We loved our visit with him and will be returning later this month for his Graduation from Boot Camp.
It is a very busy, but rewarding time right now for us.
