Day 11 June 23 2010

Here we go again, downtown Salt Lake City, we will tour the Convention Center this morning and then go see if we can find anyone else for the family tree Pat is working on.

It only took three (3) years to build the Convention Center.

Not much luck today however.

After doing the above we went shopping and then we went out to eat our evening meal.

Pat waiting on the free shuttle this morning.
The Convention Center.
On the grounds of the Temple.

The Convention Center from a distance.
Running water by the sidewalk leading up to the center along North Temple Street.
This picture is on the roof and was made by sandblasting the images on the tiles. Outstanding piece of work.
Notice in the next few pictures of the inside of the Convention Center, they can seat 23,000 people in here.

No seat is obstructed from view.
What holds the top up??
The Pipe Organ .
The following pictures are taken on the roof garden on top of the Convention Center.

Some of the trees are 20 to 30 feet tall.
The Skylights above the Convention Center.

Worker keeping the grounds planted.

Indian Paint Brushes up here also.

A special soil was developed (for less weight than dirt due to the weight).

They are starting to sell condos (next picture) and they start at $1,000,000. per condo. Anyone want to purchase one?????
The condos under construction.
Beautiful Roses everywhere.
Snow on the mountain top.
Where we ate our evening meal today. "Ruth's Diner".
The trolly cars are from the 1939 time.
