We had our DeMontrond travelers Rally at Johnson Creek RV Resort with 9 RV's. The weather was good as a whole so we actually were able to sit out quite a bit and enjoy the nice shade. This is a wonderful park and the owners and workers were super as usual.
We had one new member and her son at this rally. June Young and Sam. They are friends of Bill and Barbara Murphy.
we wanted to go to Classic Burgers over Memorial Day only to find them closed so we went to Fuddruckers instead.
We actually ate at Billie Gene's twice. One planned and one not planned. Due to not being told by the steak house in Bandera that they did not light pits until later for cooking we arrived early and decided not to wait over 2 hours to cook our steaks. We then tried OST in Bandera and they were closed so we headed back to Kerrville and ate at Billie Gene's, always good food here.
We also went to have our mexican food one night.
No shortage of places to eat here.
Went to James Avery and some purchased some very nice charms and necklaces. then on to a resale shop and all the ladies purchased something there. We stopped at Whataburger on the way back. We called the guys but there where no takers but one wanted a Dr. Pepper shake. guess who. We had a fun time.
We had a great cookout at the park along with our pot luck and it was fantastic. Everyone wants more of those on the schedule. We had Bar b cue and trimmings on Friday night and Fried chicken and all sides on Saturday evening. It was not catered, it was ordered and then picked up and worked great.
Our Continental breakfast was very good, we sort of copied the host from Onalaska. Everyone enjoyed it. Our big breakfast was also very good, with scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, fruit salad, and some of the leftover from the Friday one. LaVerne Williams and Harold Dowdy and George and Pat Franklin were host.
we worked a few puzzles, played a couple of games. Really enjoyed being able to sit out and visit.
Some went to the antique store downtown, the sculpture Prayer Garden with the empty cross, the flea market days, and of course you have to go to Gibson's to shop.
Safe travels to all, see everyone in the fall for our next rally.
We thank all our servicemen who have served, are serving and will serve in the future. God bless you all.
