We traveled via our Van, Pat drove all the way on Friday and back on Saturday, we left about 6:30 AM and arrived at 1:00 PM. on Friday. We left on Saturday about 10:30 and didn't get home until about 5:30, found a good nursery to stop at, in Rising Star and bought some plants. Drove a total of 670 miles in about 36 hours.
Purpose of the trip was to see our granddaughter, Lauren, run the hurdles for a chance to go to State Track Meet in Austin Texas. This was her final meet in High School as she is a senior and will be going to college next year. Unfortunately she did not make finals, but we are still very proud of her and her accomplishments.
We got to visit with our son and daughter-in-law Friday evening and then had breakfast with all 3 on Saturday morning before heading back home. We made it back to Cypress in time to see our grandson, Cody, leave for Washington State and his summer job for the national park again.
We took Highway Texas 36 back to Cypress and it is a good road and almost a straight shot home. Some nice shops along the way also.
It was a whirl wind trip but we enjoyed seeing the family.
Pictures are of our trip along the way.
