YAH Trip February 20 2013

Even if the weather was suppose to be a little bad we had a great turn out for this trip.  I was really impressed with the Longhorn Museum and have a different understanding of them now.  Even if we are Aggies.  Our tour guide was very good and informative.  She raises cattle herself but not Longhorns.  They have a really nice garden area outside where you can have weddings or receptions.  We went to Kelly's for lunch and the food was very good.  After lunch we took a little tour of some of the homes in the area. We even got to experience the great driving of our driver, Chris, she has an a+ from us.  We went on to the Art Car Museum and even if there are only a few cars there it was interesting to see all the stuff they have on these cars.  We made a quick stop at the Heights drug store and antique store.  We then came home and made another safe and fun trip with all our friends.

Wayne & Don doing their job.
Here we are at The Butler Longhorn Museum in League City Texas.

We watched a short movie that told us a bit of History about the Longhorns, very interesting.

Now we get to start the tour.

The horse is in Jail.

Guess they had some spare time to play cards.
 The Chishom Trail

 Nice window dressings.

 Some great brands.
I have never seen this many longhorns before.

All different barb wires that ID'ed different ranches.

 This is Old GW .
All of this was made of items collected by the law in Huntsville and then donated to the museum and they made this from all the items.

WOW what a display of Longhorn cattle. All of these died of natural causes except one.

 Here is Mr. Butler.

The one that has the horns turned down is the only one here that was put down.
 Nice chairs.

Here is Mr. Butler's Pet and it lived to be 38 years old. He also was in the movie The Alamo.

Hand carved from a piece of a tree. Very  nice.
Look what we saw here.

This lady is in one of our RV Clubs also.
One of the many Oak trees in league City that was planted by Mr. Butler.

Now it is time for lunch at Kelly's.

Now to the Art Car Museum in Houston.
