Forest Retreat Day 1 & 2 May 2011

Well we are having our rally at Forest Retreat in New Caney it seems a long time since we had a WWW Rally. We are expecting 15 coaches if 2 get out of the shop. We had 5 arrive on Monday. We had a good time visiting with each other and we had to try the Plantation out for dinner. Dan and Karen led the way. It was buffet style and good selection. We have plenty of birds to watch in the trees and a few squirrels. Tomorrow there should be a few more arrive. They are saying we could have rain by the end of the week. We certainly do need it. The first 5 were Buddy and Nancy Danna, Ed & Margaret Fitzgerald, Dan & Karen West, and us. The park is very clean and nicely kept. Lots of stations on cable and free ice. Wow. They could use some picnic tables at the sites for seating and having snacks.

Their sign about 1/2 mile south of FM1485 on Highway 59 in New Caney Texas.

Then about 1/4 mile the entrance sign.

Here are The Roberts arriving.

Then Buddy and Nancy arrive and Buddy starts to hook up.

Nice new sign he just put up at the entrance, notice the light they have to hook up yet.

Here is where we had to stop and sign in.

Nice pool, I will have to try this out while we are here.

It was very hot today so everyone that was here decided to go inside the rec room to visit and cool off. Only five RV's arrived today.

Then we were off to Cleveland Texas to eat.

At the Plantation. Good Food and reasonable.

On our walk this morning we had to check out this fifth wheel. Count the amount of slides. 8 total. WOW.

Very few windows also. Strange.

Then there is "Slinky" their name for this RV.

They purchased this old Bus and converted it to an RV. Pretty Cool.

While Pat and I was walking we spotted Ed, Nancy and Buddy walking also.

These leaves were cast into the roadway thru the park.

Carol stopped and chatted a while with Ed as we were walking.

I thought this was cool so I took this picture.

Along the walkway from the Montgomery Park next door.

Doing what we do best.

Phil and Pat getting some Sun.

Nice area where we will have our cook out this week.

Fire ring, and Horse shoes . No Fire This week however. TOO DRY.

Nice area.

Good Bar-B-Q pit to use also.
