Rally Jellystone RV Park Tyler TX
Date 11/4—11/11/2018 a total of 16 RV’s had signed up to
attend this Rally. We have had 3 cancellations for various reasons.
We arrived on Sunday 11/4 there were already 4 RV’s here
and then after got settled in another one arrived and that was all the
RV’s for today arrivals.
It was George W. Birthday so E. Strickland, us and the
Welsh’s went to eat at Bodacious Bar B Q. for his B’Day. While LaVerne Williams had to make a trip to ER for her congestion, seems she had bronchitis. After a shot and prescriptions, she was back at rally.
11/5/2018
A relaxing day, Laverne went shopping for a new TV as one in the RV is going
out. The Robert’s had to get a new remote
for their Dish network due to someone forgetting to bring there one from Home, there
were a few of the ladies that played cards in the Rally Room. The Hall’s
arrived today.
11/6/2018 There are 2 more RV’s to arrive today
the Hubel’s and the Letsos. We went shopping today for a phone fix for Pat or a
new phone. When we got to Best Buy we saw Phil and Joe and Phil had just locked his keys in his car, it is still
running. He called, and. Julian H. and George W. was bringing him back up
keys. Later today George Letsos had battery problems
with his tow car when they checked into the park. Several members when to
his rescue. A lot of the members went
out for dinner this evening. We stayed behind as we had a very late lunch today
at The Catch, in Lindale, TX.. Later we went to the Verizon store in Lindale for a little assistance on Pat's new phone. 😉
11/7/2018 Raining this AM. The Dobson’s arrived today
about noon. More games being played today in the Rally Room. It was reported
that Laverne’s New TV is now installed and she is a Happy Camper 😊.
The cold front came thru today, and the temp is to get
down to 42 deg. (F) tonight.
We had Soup and Salad night then we each got to vote on
what we thought was the best. The winners of 1st. and 2nd.
Place won gift cards, the two winners were Delores Letsos and Elizabeth
Strickland.
After some stayed and played games or worked on a puzzle.
Julian H. had a slight problem with some of the fiberglass behind the front
driver side wheel well was loose, Larry H. and George W. assisted him in
repairing this.
11/8/2018 We have 3 RV’s scheduled in today. At about
4:00 AM Joe B. said his A/C Unit lost the fan and made a large noise. Guess that was the way to kick off Janet Bechard birthday. We are
next to them and heard nothing. Pat went to Verizon to get her new phone
working correctly. Pot Luck this evening, lots of good food. It rained about ½ of
the day. ☹
11/9/2018 Another rainy night, temp this morning is 45
deg. (F) our last RV’er arrived today, Greg and Hunani Shipper and have rented
a cabin, there RV was stuck in the mud at there home due to the flooding
there. Some went shopping today, some stayed
at the park and worked on puzzles.
We had our catered meal this evening. Very good.
Winners of Bingo tonight were, Bill
Murphy, Barbara Murphy, LaVerne Williams and Pat Turney. Also the guest of the
Dobson’s joined us they are Sean, Ellie(6) and Liam (7) Dobson.
Well guess who else had to make a trip to the ER, harold Dowdy and he was also diagnosed with Bronchitis. A shot and prescription for him also.

11/10/2018 Breakfast
and then our meeting this morning. Julian
has stepped up to assist with the Secretary position. WOW the Dobson's are in the process of purchasing Phil Robert's RV. It was a very hard decision for the Roberts to make but felt it was time to do so. They will be missed but will come to visit us sometime at a rally. Smooth sailing to them on their upcoming cruises.
We had a very good catered meal again on Saturday night.
During the happy hour we had entertainment from Greg Shipper and his Mom, Elizabeth Strickland. We very much enjoyed their playing for us. just made for VERY NICE HAPPY HOUR.. Hope we will have more in the future.
Bingo was again tonight and we had a very good time playing with our new caller, Vernon. The winners were Gregg Shipper, Elizabeth Strickland, Pat Turney, Janet Bechard, Harold Dowdy, and Gisele Roberts.
No extra games tonight everyone wanted to get back to their coach and start getting ready to leave Sunday morning. We had a total of 1.25 inches of rain this week per my rain gage I put ot on 11/4/2018.
A little footnote that on Sunday we pulled out of the park and not quite to main highway were the Welsh's off to the side and broke down.We were the 2nd, to stop and see if they needed help. They had called for a wrecker already and told us to go on. Unfortunately this was before 10 in the morning and they didn't get any help and a tow until that afternoon I believe around 6. So they sat on the edge of the road all day. then spent night in hotel. Only to find out that their RV then had to be towed from Tyler to Longview, Texas for repairs. They went ahead and came home in their Jeep and will go back to pick up the RV when it is ready. Think that is a pretty bad hard luck. Similar to the Sleidels on their last attempt to come to a rally.
Please remember all those with health issues and those going thru rough times. Remember life is short enjoy each day and don't take any for granted.
