Now we are back here and they are rebuilding fast.
Glad we had this rally.
Sept. 17, 2018. Well it has been a year since Harvey hit here and destroyed the area.
There was rain every day however we only had it during the nights, made for good sleeping.Corpus Christi Texas had more rain than Rockport area.
We had 9 RV's attend this Rally, however the Park still gave us the rally rate and a rally room (that was smaller) and our Host Team, Ed and Margaret Fitzgerald and Frank and Barbara Adamac, made it work.
Lots of games played. We played pass the love a few times and missed our score keeper. For those of you who may not know that Janet Lambe passed away suddenly while DeMontrond was having their rally in San Antonio. We send our regards to all the family.
We were all watching the progress of the Hurricane that was headed for the Carolina's . We also kept our eyes on the Gulf of Mexico as there was concern in this area also.
We sort of left in various numbers on various days.
We were glad that LaVerne Williams and Harold Dowdy joined us. They decided while in San Antonio to go ahead and come for a few days.
For those of you who use to go to the rallies in Rockport, all the time. I know you remember the Big fisherman Restaurant, well his daughter now has the Fisherman's Daughter Restaurant and it was pretty good eating. Pat Lunsford's brother told her about it and so we all went there and Pat invited her brother and sister-in-law to come join us. We enjoyed visiting with them.
It was very good food, but missed the atmosphere of the original. There were no kitty cats roaming around. LOL.
Everyone did some sightseeing, There were still a few places not opened yet but for the majority it was business as usual. If people don't start visiting and helping the economy they will be in trouble.
We made 3 trips to buy shrimp for the little lady we always get it from. The last time we bought enough for the 6 of us left there and Sharon and Polo LaCoste beheaded and cleaned them all and then Sharon fried them. Oh my goodness that was good eating. we wish more would have stayed but the weather was a factor and they were worried it was going to be really bad. Thank goodness it wasn't the case. Lots of rain during the nights and sun during most of the days. We had a light drizzle now and then but nothing to slow us down.
We went to a couple of hummer homes but not many hummers but tons of mosquitoes. Went to the festival at the high school the vendors were all there and of course we bought a few things.
We want all that could not make it due to illness that we were thinking about you and we all pray that you will be feeling better soon.
We all had a good time and enjoyed the rally.
