What a great time we had. A little rain but not enough to slow us down. Also three days of wind.
We had a good turn out with 13 coaches and 3 cancellations. we had great weather to begin our time together but as the days past we had to contend with a lot of rain, salt and sand in the air.
Everyone had a great time even going the 3 flights to get to the game room and eating area.
The hostess, Edwina Peyton and Sharon Goodlett, did a great job by having most of our meals out and keeping us on the go.
We took in Moody Gardens, some went to other small towns around to see different things.
We had a first and I must say a fun time with our throw down Thursday on the beach. A lot of us were having second thoughts but once we all got down there we all had fun. From hula hoop, playing a form of beach tennis, one injury, no name mentioned. We hunted for shells, had a wiener roast, thanks to George and Mary donating the pit. After the wiener roast we did smores and they were delicious.
The wind did not keep many of us down.
Some hard lucks, The Franklin's were without a fridge most of the week and survived, thanks to our eating out schedule. The Halls lost power in their coach and thanks to Jeff Dobson, it was restored. The Bakers had trouble coming down with a cooling problem, but made it back home ok.
We found a new park and have booked it for next year. Galveston Island RV Resort. Really a nice facility AND OFFERED US A GREAT RATE. Very friendly staff and George and I hope to make a trip or 2 before next year rolls around.
No dairy Queen but Ben and Jerry's was ok. LOL
The park had a breakfast 2 days you could go to and very reasonable and not bad food. Fresh eggs from their chickens.
We had our breakfast and meeting.
We also had wine tasting and finger foods everyone had a good time.
There was the community garage sale at Jamaica Beach and quite a few went to it. Ask the Franklins about it their van was full, enough room for the 2 of them to drive back to RV park.,
Next rally in Castroville next week. We have 8 coaches coming for sure. It is going to be a laid back R & R rally. we have a surprise or 2 of places to go but not a lot of other things going on.
Hope everyone has a Happy Mothers days'
Safe travel to all and see you down the road.
