We arrived here on Monday and the Sun was shining, beautiful day.
LaVerne had to cancel due to some health issues which unfortunately led to surgery to remove a blood clot in her arm., so Janet Bechard filled in for her. Elizabeth Strickland also had to cancel due to the wet ground where she parks her RV.
We had 13 RV's at this rally and 2 cancellations. This included three guest coaches and two of those coaches became members. David Miller is the son of Pete Miller that was a DeMontrond member.
We had some very inclement weather set in and had to bring slides in at about 2 in the morning. It lasted all day until after sunset the next day. High winds, could have surfed on Lake Livingston.
We had no heat in the rally room on Saturday, they worked on it after George called them. off and on all day but never got it going. They did not offer to get any portable heaters for us but our host team the Halls brought 2 from their coach. Thanks so much did not heat it all but at least took the chill off. Janet Bechard and Pat sat down there all day and was joined by Carol since we couldn't leave room unattended.
We did our usual eating out and spent some time at the casino. Pat won, George lost don't want to break our normal pattern of one winning and one losing.
We played some games and visited a lot.
We want to send a special thanks to our new members, David and Beverly Miller for going and picking up their bingo set for us to use since we did not have ours at the rally. It was a very nice gesture and everyone enjoyed it a lot. Especially our caller, Vernon, since they had different bingo game than ours. Right Vernon? You will have to ask him why he enjoyed it so much.
We missed our president, LaVerne and Harold.
We will be seeing all again soon at Bushman in Bullard, Texas.
