YAH Bus trip January 29 2016

Today we had one of the most wonderful bus trip that we have ever had.
We Visited The Lanier Theological Library in Houston Texas and then to the Houston Water Works Education Center in Humble, TX.

The pictures I have on this blog in no way give the feeling of seeing this in person. We suggest that you take the time to visit  both in person and through their website listed below.

http://www.laniertheologicallibrary.org/

Then find "Explore" on the top of the navigation bar and go down to "The Chapel" page. This page has a video and 30 pages of information about the chapel! Enjoy!

The Lanier Theological Library
14130 Hargrave Rd.
Houston, Texas 77070
§  If you are coming for a library event or in a large bus for a tour, please enter through the Hargrave Gate.
§  If you are coming in individual cars and during our regular hours, please enter through the Falba gate. When you arrive at the Falba gate, please call 281-477-8400 and someone will open the gate for you.
the library is open week days 9 to 5 except Tuesday evening it is open until 9: P.M.
The Stone Chapel, which is immediately north of the library, is usually open for prayer and meditation until 5:00 P.M.  each week day

Our tour was given by Charles Mickey and what a wonderful tour he gave us.
This is a hidden jewel in our part of the area. It is among the most beautiful painted chapels we have ever seen.
The pictures that were taken just do not show how beautiful these paintings are, please add this to your bucket list.

Our water works tour was also very informative and educational on conserving and using our water. Brenda was our tour guide and did a wonderful job of explaining and answering our questions. They give tours for schools also and the children love it.

Not to forget our lunch at Zio's italian Kitchen on I-45. That was in between our two stops.
We want to again thank our committee of 8 for all the hard work they do to organize our trips. They spend a lot of time looking and booking these for our enjoyment. Please always let them know how much you enjoy these trips.

Hope you enjoy and thanks again for taking the time  to look at our blog.  Until next time. Safe travels to all.
