Rally in San Antonio April 22 2012

Can not end rally with out one more meal and it was off to Cracker Barrel this morning and our good byes to all.  The breakfast was wonderful as always.  We have 2 heading to Red Bay Alabama this morning for repairs on their coaches. They are Janet Lambe and Sharon Goodlet.  The Huntleys are already there aand then the Roberts(Lynn and Carla) will be heading there on Wednesday.  Seems lots of problems with their coaches nowadays. We all went back to park and headed out. The traffic was os bad on I10 we cut off at Flatonia and took old 90 to Schulenberg asnd got back on. If we had known we should have stayed on old 90. Pretty drive and less traffic. We have another rally in Hempstead on May the 4,5, and 6.  So we get to have fun again.
Forgot to mention that Sharon Goodlet graciously accepted to fill in the spot of secretary until we have election of officers again.

Off  to breakfast this morning.
A very old jack Pump in this Cracker Barrel, we have never seen one of these.
 Oh soo good.
Chalkboard sign at cracker Barrel.

Sharon G. on her way to Red Bay AL. I missed Janet L. as she is taking her Coach also today. The two of them are going to get repairs done. Good Luck on your trip.
An old church on our way home today.
 Some Bluebonnets also.

Rally in San Antonio Aprl 21 2012

Our last full day of the rally and time has flown as usual.  This has been a super rally and the host teams have been great.  We had pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit and juice and all was just great. We thank all very much.  Connie was under the weather this morning and we missed her at the breakfast, but she was much better as the day went on and was able to rejoin in the fun. After breakfast we all went to the SAS shoe factory and some bought shoes, gifts, ice cream, candy and old time memorbilia.  Good time was had by all.
After that some went back to park, others toured the missions, others went for more shopping.  All sat around and visited till time for our hamburger cookout.  Manuel did all the cooking of the hamburgers and the rest of the host team got all the extras ready and had ice tea for us.
The park let us use all their kitchen and items in it, coffee pots, grill, utensils, and etc. we did not have to use any thing out of our coaches.  What a deal.
While everyone was sitting around, before our cookout, Lynn went to help Ray Mason on his coach and ray raised up to soon and had to get 9 stitches in his head from the slide out.  He had a slight headache after that.
We had pass the love and also 42 going on after our meal.  I think Manuel was the big winner at the pass the love.  We had 2 guests for the rally and they were a joy. We had Opal, Carla Roberts mom, and on Friday and Saturday night we had Pete's sister, who lives in San Antonio here.  She even joined in the pass the love on Saturday night and had a great time. Opal played both nights and had a great time also.
There is nothing to replace our extended family and always a joy to get together,  we were sorry that more could not attend. We were glad to hear the news that Don Williams will be going home on Tuesday from the hospital.

I saw a rabbit this morning at our rv site.
now it is time for breakfast today.
Manuel and Phil doing KP duty.
Then some of us went to the San Antonio Shoe Store.
 Nice old cars displayed here.

Old buildings on the parking lot.
An old windmill at the entrance.
The welches and us went to see some of the Old missions.

 Tells about the "Rose Window".

Rally in San Antonio April 20 2012

It is Friday and we are being treated to breakfast by the park, they had coffee, juice, donuts, and ham and cheese kolaches.  They also presented us with a gift bag and we received coffee mugs, keychain lights and postcards.  Very nice.  Everyone seems to enjoy the park and it was a show of hands for 100 percent to come back to San antonio and to this park.  After breakfast we went down to the river and rode the barge around the beautiful river and took in the sights,  Then we were off to the Market and to MiTiara.  The only glitch was it was Fiesta time and there were so many people and hard to find a place to park.  We did and lunch was great and then we went over to the Market to get in some shopping and most everyone came home with some goodies of some sort.  We had a dinner of whatever you wanted to bring.  It turned out just right.  After our large lunch we did not need a huge meal again.  We had a game of pass the love and Phil Roberts was the big winner.

Breakfast this morning.

Kathy the manager here furnished our breakfast today and also gave everyone a bag of goodies.

Here is a gorup picture of all of us at the river in downtown San Antonio.
What a great guide and skipper we had today on the river boat.
An old church as we were going down the San Antonio River.
Very old bridge over the river.
Some very nice  old sculptuers on buildings along the river also.
This is a 350 year old Cypress Tree along the river.
Another picture of us with the first hotel that was built on site and the rooms were lifted by crane into place. H.B.Zachry did the building and erection of this hotel for Hemisphere in 1968.
Where we purchased our boat tickets.
These water falls were built to put air back into the river to keep the fish from dying.

Our host team on the boat today.
After the boat ride it was off to go eat at Mi Tierra Cafe in the market area of downtown.
Oh what good mexican Pastries they have.
We are ready to order I think.

The Texas flag was flying on the top of this building today.

Connie bought something at the market today.
So did Carla look like. Linda was helping her get it just right.
Now for our evening meal.

Pete's Sister joined us this evening. She lives in San Antonio.
And look who is playing cards tonight. Opal (Carla's Mother)
Our flags were flying with pride.
